What to Wear and Bring

What to Wear

At Living Pictures we want you to enjoy your pictures again and again… This means that the ultra trendy top that was the height of fashion 6 months ago begins to look dated as fashion moves on and detracts from your perfect portrait.

At the studio, portraits are taken on either a black or white stage depending on the type of atmosphere that is being created. This means that it is best to avoid plain black or white garments. Blocks of colour are best as strong patterns can be distracting. Wear something you are comfortable in as this helps to create the relaxed atmosphere required to get the very best shots. The studio incorporates a private changing room so bring more than one change of clothes to create different pictures.

What to Bring

For a family or group shot, try to get together before hand and coordinate outfits. Decide on whether you want clothes to be smart or casual, bright or muted. This helps to create a good balance to the picture. The last thing you want is everyone commenting on Auntie Betty because she wore an emerald green evening gown when everyone else was in jeans and a t-shirt.

Finally baby portraits are always cherished. Be inventive, bring a towel or pyjamas for bedtime poses or dressing up outfits for those fun shots. The studio will be an unfamiliar place for a baby or toddler so bringing favourite toys will help them to settle down, they may even end up in the shot too.

We want to create your perfect portrait so if you are not sure about what to wear please do not hesitate to contact us we are happy to advise you.
